Opening a physical store felt like a new start. I had dabbled in odd markets for a while, but this was a big step. My previous name (Magpied Curios) had been fitting to my old ways, but I wanted something more permanent. A Magpie swoops around gathering and collecting treasures. A Badger is much more hardy and adaptable. They often use their sets for generations, truly putting down roots.Sunniside was also a perfect placement with a great and growing local community. Sadly the store turned out not to be the greatest fit, despite thriving customer support, and the Badger joined The Durham Antiques Cooperative, located at The Old Curio, Sherburn Hill, and has since continued to expand. We are so proud to also be loyal Fleas, at Flea Circus Newcastle. Where you can find a large selection of our loved antique and costume jewellery collection, along with other small and curious trinkets.

Parking is available at both sites. on street or very close by, and we are happy to say, ITS FREE AT BOTH LOCATIONS

Yes! You can shop online or instore. You can also select to collect instore for larger, heavy or fragile items, or just if you live close by. Should you spot anything on our Social Media not listed, please feel free to contact us, email/message or call (number coming soon) and we can do our best to help. But we would love to see your faces in store.

Our items are Vintage/Antique and pre-loved, and we would love you to rehome them. They may come with scuffs, marks, and signs of use, but these are all memories and characteristics which can not be created. Each line tells a story, its an insight into previous owners, adventures and a huge part of what makes your new items so special, rare and desirable. Nothing else will ever be the same. You are also making a green choice, by re-loving sustainable items, be it jewellery, ceramics, furniture or otherwise and becoming a part of its history yourself. We will do our very best to show any wear in photos and with detailed descriptions, please be aware items are sold as seen and character is all part of them.

Many items can be posted, and will be listed as such, however with larger/heavier/fragile items, we would recommend arranging a courier/delivery service or collecting instore.We are happy to work with companies of your choosing, but please note this is at your own expense and risk.We can also advise on local services should you require.
